\nFirst of all, I want to welcome you and express my gratitude for your taking part to our yearly She Y\u00fcn meal.
\nAs you may know, She Y\u00fcn has been existing since 2014, and it\u2019s been growing ever since. We currently support 20 children, some of whom are now going to university\u2026 : they were the first children who joined our programme eleven years ago.
\nI want you all to know that whatever you do to help, it\u2019s meaningful. When we help a child go to school and get a good education \u2013 She Y\u00fcn means \u201ceducation\u201d in Tibetan \u2013 it\u2019s a whole family that we support, even a whole community. That\u2019s why it\u2019s so important that we don\u2019t let a child on the side.
\nIn Buddhism, the Bodhisattva is a person who tends to eliminate the suffering in all beings, without expecting any reward or recognition. That is exactly what you\u2019re doing when you support the children of She Y\u00fcn.
\nHelping others is also good for you : it helps overcome traumas caused by difficult events. It helps you forgive more easily. It\u2019s a good method to overcome one\u2019s own difficulties. And it leads to real happiness.
\nThat\u2019s why it\u2019s important that you stay connected with our project: there are more children who need our help. We intend to open new centres in small towns in the countryside: that\u2019s where the needs are more pressing. Diki, our local manager, and myself will focus on developing these future projects.
\nThere is no obligation, of course, but if you\u2019re willing to help, you are more than welcome: you can sponsor She Y\u00fcn, you can let your friends know about She Y\u00fcn, or you can even join the team.
