This year, the Tibetan New Year \u2013 Losar<\/b> \u2013 falls on 18 February<\/b> and marks the beginning of the year 2153<\/b> in the Tibetan calendar, under the sign of the Fire Horse<\/b>. As the Tibetan calendar is lunar \u2013 rather than solar, like ours \u2013 the date changes every year. The Losar celebrations have pre-Buddhist origins dating back to the first Tibetan king, Nyatri Tsenpo, whose reign began in 127 BC.<\/p>\n
The Fire Horse symbolises powerful energy (passion, freedom, courage and action) that invites us to take new steps: adventure and self-expression. The emphasis is on progress, while reminding us of the importance of finding a balance between impulsiveness and reflection.<\/p>\n
Losar is also an opportunity to get things moving again. The She Y\u00fcn Belgium team takes this opportunity to get together and clarify the actions we plan to take, based on the values that drive us.<\/p>\n

It's been ten years already since Lama Zeupa asked us to join him in supporting disadvantaged children in Sikkim with their educational journey. At first, there were five children. Today, there are twenty! Deepak and Pempa, two boys from the first 'generation', have completed their secondary education and are starting their professional training. To continue supporting the children in Sikkim, we need to collect at least 25,000 euros per year.
