Lama Zeupa welcomes 150+ participants to the barbecue on 23 August

Dear friends,
First of all, I want to welcome you and express my gratitude for your taking part to our yearly She Yün meal.
As you may know, She Yün has been existing since 2014, and it’s been growing ever since. We currently support 20 children, some of whom are now going to university… : they were the first children who joined our programme eleven years ago.
I want you all to know that whatever you do to help, it’s meaningful. When we help a child go to school and get a good education – She Yün means “education” in Tibetan – it’s a whole family that we support, even a whole community. That’s why it’s so important that we don’t let a child on the side.
In Buddhism, the Bodhisattva is a person who tends to eliminate the suffering in all beings, without expecting any reward or recognition. That is exactly what you’re doing when you support the children of She Yün.
Helping others is also good for you : it helps overcome traumas caused by difficult events. It helps you forgive more easily. It’s a good method to overcome one’s own difficulties. And it leads to real happiness.
That’s why it’s important that you stay connected with our project: there are more children who need our help. We intend to open new centres in small towns in the countryside: that’s where the needs are more pressing. Diki, our local manager, and myself will focus on developing these future projects.
There is no obligation, of course, but if you’re willing to help, you are more than welcome: you can sponsor She Yün, you can let your friends know about She Yün, or you can even join the team.
I would finally like to take this opportunity to thank the cooks Leen & Peter, all the volunteers of She Yün, as well as the volunteers of Yeunten Ling: it is thanks to you that this feast is possible.
As for now, I wish you all a happy evening and enjoy your meal and the company!
